Just keep in mind…
…that I'm turning 40 in 20 days.

I have sock progress!
I suppose that Hurricane Ike was good for something. :eyeroll: It caused me to pick my socks back up, and I think I might finish them at some point!
I've just finished the heels and gusset decreases, and I've just started working the feet. Here is a closer shot of the texture. The yarn is really dark, so it's kind of hard to see. I will do better with lighting (and use the better camera!) once they are finished.
I'm afraid to go back and check how long it's been since I worked on these. :shifty: My last progress photo was posted on February 16:
…but I was further along than that when I picked them up this time. They were abandoned (well, neglected to take photos) for nearly 8 months, I was worried that it was longer!
Gratuitous "me" photo:
:-D
"…also, I really pulled my arms and fingers over the weekend. The drawer on the refrigerator was REALLY stuck."
"OK, I see some tightness here…and here…"
"Uh-huh, and there…and there…ow…"
"Wow, you really did a number on yourself, huh?"
"Well, it was an emergency."
"Mm-hmm?"
"The ketchup was in there."
Geek Knitter tagged me with a meme, because she thinks I "need to blog more". Thanks a lot!
The Rules:
1. Pick up the nearest book of 123 or more pages.
Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien
2. Open the book to page 123 and find the fifth sentence:
'But would you part an old man from his support?'.
3. Post the next three sentences.
'Come, will you not let us enter?' … 'The staff in the hand of a wizard may be more than a prop for age,' said Hama. He looked hard at the ash-staff on which Gandalf leaned.
4. Tag five people.
Lissalue, catalyst2, selwynne, Cate, and ninglorithiel.
A friend spotted this on someone's blog.
Put your iPod on shuffle and record the name of the song for each life event. The songs aren't usually appropriate, but it's kinda funny when they are.
The closest thing I have to an iPod is my Finetune. Here's mine (from the playlist I use the most):

I got a Flickr Pro account this week, so I just added all my contacts to the new account. So it's not really a duplicate request; just same old me. With a Flickr Pro.
Feel free to dump the old contact, now renamed to "brownishcoat124". I don't have any plans to upload more photos there, and I may eventually move everything over and delete it.
For now, I've moved over and deleted the project photos that I plan to use for Ravelry. I'll probably move the stash photos over next.
I am embarrassed to admit this, but I have come to the conclusion that I knit "funny". I converted from English to Continental about 2 years ago, and while I was slow getting the Conti-purl up to speed, I am fully a C-knitter. Seriously.
With one exception. I can not, repeat NOT cable Continental. I have just started my third set of Fetching (from Knitty), and every time I come to the cable round, I have to switch to English. I thought that I would outgrow it, but nope. Gotta cable English. It doesn't upset me, or slow me down, I'm just always forgetting when I'm setting up my hands to do a round, and then I have to switch everything. I guess I just think it's weird. And maybe a little funny.
Speaking of funny, I was driving home from work yesterday, and I had a pretty good laugh. When stopped at a red light, the guy in the car next to me kept reaching behind him in the car. The light was turning green, and he's still reaching! And I'm sitting there, going, "What could be so darn important that he can't wait?" and then the realization hit me.
Glanced back one last time, and glimpsed him just as he's tipping the cigarette over the door to ash. I laughed out loud: "That has happened to me before!"
I hope the poor guy didn't think I was being mean.
